About The Position

The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the development of the skills, knowledge, and expertise needed to become a Bakery Department Manager. The role supervises bakery operations to ensure guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operations meet Lowes Foods standards. The Assistant Bakery Manager assumes the Department Manager’s duties in their absence. Pay starts at $17 per hour.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of bakery operations.
Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical job requirements.
Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively with the Store Manager and Merchandiser.
Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from bakery department staff.
Achieve budgeted bakery department sales, shrink, and profits.
Maintain desired inventory and supply levels.
Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
Ensure products for sale meet Lowes Foods quality standards.
Maintain department sanitation and safety according to Lowes Foods standards.
Guide, orient, train, and provide feedback to bakery department hosts to support satisfactory performance.
Prepare products, receive and order merchandise, stock, and provide guest service as needed to meet standards.
Maintain the department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
Make PA announcements.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
