About The Position

Under general supervision, the Assistant Auditorium Technician will perform and be responsible for the necessary work involved in the coordination, setup, maintenance, and operation of all PA, AV, and other related technical needs of the Athletic Department and its vendors. The venues serviced include CEFCU Arena, Hancock Stadium, Kaufman Building, Horton Fieldhouse, Weibring Golf Club, Duffy Bass Field, Marian Kneer Stadium, and the Redbird Soccer Field. This individual's service will be provided for various events such as collegiate athletic contests, high school athletic contests, concerts, banquets, meetings, private events, assemblies, and other various public, community, and University events. This position will provide superior customer service to internal and external constituents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any one or combination totaling eighteen months (18 months) from the categories below: A. course work in arts, theatre, theatre management, music business, or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: - 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) - Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) B. work experience in technical operations of event production or closely related experience.
  • A final candidate must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical exam. Employment is contingent on the successful result of the pre-employment physical.
  • Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation: Ability to bend, crouch, kneel and reach overhead.
  • Ability to lift 90 pounds.
  • Ability to push/pull 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb a ladder while carrying 20 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Must be able to walk.
  • Applicants for this position must be authorized to work in the U.S. without ISU sponsorship.
  • All work under this appointment is required to be performed from within the State of Illinois. If hired, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days from the start date for this position.
