The Office of the Attorney General is seeking a highly skilled attorney to fill a full-time Assistant Attorney General vacancy. This position is based in Augusta and is primarily responsible for providing legal services to the Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP). Representation of OCP in the fast-changing world of cannabis law includes evaluating, preparing, and presenting cases on OCP’s behalf involving the enforcement and defense of OCP laws and determinations. This position also provides general legal advice to OCP including pre-review and formal review of complex program rules, reviewing and advising OCP about legislation (both state and federal), contract review, legal review of OCP policies, responding to subpoenas served on OCP, and advising OCP with respect to Freedom of Access Act requests. This position acts as the OAG subject matter expert on cannabis law.
