About The Position
The office of the Attorney General has an opening for an Assistant Attorney General within the Health and Human Services Division in Augusta. This position will represent the DHHS Office of Aging and Disability Services, Adult Protective Services, in guardianship and other matters, and will appear in Probate and other courts. This position will also represent DHHS in District Court hearings with involuntary commitment applications.
Requirements
- Members of the Maine Bar in good standing
- An eye for legal detail
- Interested in complex state and federal litigation
- Strong legal advocacy and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- One to three years of legal practice with demonstrated proficiency in civil litigation and/or health care law and litigation is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Represent the DHHS Office of Aging and Disability Services, Adult Protective Services, in guardianship and other matters.
- Appear in Probate and other courts.
- Represent DHHS in District Court hearings with involuntary commitment applications.
