About The Position

Drew University is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to join their team. This is a full-time, 10-month, exempt position that reports directly to the Director of Sports Medicine and Performance. Requirements

  • NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer
  • NJ Licensed Athletic Trainer
  • CPR/First Aid Certified

Responsibilities

  • Provide athletic training services which include but are not limited to initial injury evaluation, injury care, creating and overseeing therapy plans and post-surgical rehabilitation protocols, and conducting evaluation for return to play.
  • Conduct baseline testing with athletes.
  • Create and maintain accurate athlete files.
  • Assist with pre-season physicals and medical screenings.
  • Effectively communicate with team physicians, coaches, physical therapists and athletes to assure continuity of care.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of injury prevention programs.
  • Attend scheduled team practices at home and away competitions as necessary, which includes working a varied schedule with morning, evenings and weekends required.
  • Communicate effectively with the Head Athletic Trainer daily regarding injury reports, rehabilitation updates, and athlete concerns.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements and technologies in athletic training and rehabilitation.
  • Attend education symposiums and meetings to ensure professional development and fulfill continuing education requirements.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed.
