About The Position

Texas Woman’s University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor (nine-month, tenure-track) for the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences, College of Health Sciences, on the Denton campus. The university aims to maintain its national reputation in Exercise and Sports Nutrition by hiring an individual who can develop a strong research program with the potential to attract extramural funding. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition, advising students, establishing a research program, and participating in departmental, college, and university committees. Instruction will focus on the interplay between diet and exercise at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Additionally, the role involves fostering and expanding off-campus practicum sites, building community and clinical partnerships to enhance student experiential learning and workforce readiness. The position also includes functioning within a multi-disciplinary clinical setting within the College of Health Sciences, with responsibilities for intern oversight.

Requirements

  • An earned PhD in Nutrition or a related field is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to provide documents establishing proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • If male between 18-25, must be registered with the U.S. Selective Service System, unless exempt.

Nice To Haves

  • Administrative experience.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
  • Experience/training in exercise and sports nutrition (e.g., Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)).

Responsibilities
