About The Position

The Department of Physiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center ( https://www.uthsc.edu/physiology/ ) invites applications and nominations from talented individuals to fill a full time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position to complement and extend departmental and campus-wide research in the areas of cardiovascular and renal physiology and diseases . The Department of Physiology at UT Health Science Center was recently ranked ten out of all Physiology Departments in North America for total federal research funding. The Department faculty conducts innovative research towards understanding the fundamental mechanisms of physiology and translational research employing multidisciplinary approaches to uncovering new biological principles impacting human diseases.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: PhD, MD, or equivalent degree.
  • EXPERIENCE: Interested in candidates with active research programs to complement existing departmental strengths in cardiovascular and renal diseases, diabetes, ion channel physiology, signal transduction, mitochondrial biology, injury and repair.
  • The qualified candidate will have an excellent record of research accomplishments and national funding.
