About The Position

The Division of Translational and Clinical Pharmacology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is actively recruiting a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are seeking a collaborative, innovative, and mission-driven scientist or physician-scientist whose translational research advances pediatric precision medicine, with a focus on optimizing drug safety and efficacy through approaches such as pharmacogenomics, multi-omics, advanced non-invasive new approach methodologies (NAMs), pharmacometrics, and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven drug therapy optimization. This position is part of an ambitious strategic expansion to establish the division as a national leader in patient-centric pediatric clinical pharmacology. New faculty will contribute to an environment rich in collaborative research, training, and real-world translation to optimize therapies for children.

Requirements

  • PhD, PharmD/PhD, or MD/PhD in pharmacology, systems biology, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • A strong track record or demonstrated potential for federal funding (e.g., NIH, FDA, NSF).
  • Evidence of research in pharmacogenomics, pharmacometrics, systems pharmacology, biomarker discovery, or AI-driven modeling.
  • Experience with or interest in pediatric populations and patient-centric approaches to drug development and safety.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PBPK/PKPD/QSP modeling platforms, multi-omics integration, or translational bioinformatics and big data analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory science or industry-academic partnerships.
  • A passion for mentoring and contributing to the academic community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead an independent, extramurally funded research program aligned with our focus on mechanisms of drug disposition, safety, and efficacy, with a strong emphasis on clinical translation.
  • Specialize in one or more of the following areas: pharmacogenomics, multi-omics, advanced non-invasive NAMs, pharmacometrics, PBPK/PKPD/QSP modeling, drug-drug interaction, gene-exposome interaction, biomarker discovery, and AI-enhanced therapeutic optimization to inform individualized therapy and improve clinical outcomes.
  • Collaborate across divisions within CCHMC and the University of Cincinnati to integrate translational science with clinical applications in pediatric pharmacology.
  • Engage with national and international partners, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities for medical and graduate students, postdocs, and fellows.
  • Contribute to curriculum development in pediatric pharmacology, AI in medicine, and systems modeling.
  • Serve on institutional, national, or international committees; contribute to workshops, symposia, and thought leadership in the field of pediatric precision pharmacology.

Benefits

  • Competitive startup packages
  • Protected research time
  • Comprehensive benefits
