About The Position

ALBANY LAW SCHOOL, in New York’s Capital City, invites applications from entry-level and lateral candidates for a faculty position in its Health Law Clinic beginning in July 2026. This is a tenure-track or long term-contract track position. We are committed to the diversity of our law school community and we seek candidates with experience in teaching and mentoring students from groups historically excluded from higher education and the legal profession and whose work advances critical thinking on questions of importance to society. We welcome applications from qualified candidates with at least six years of practice experience, with some of that practice specifically dedicated to advocacy for clients with chronic health challenges. Qualifications We seek candidates with practice experience, a strong academic record, capacity for scholarly merit, and whose work encourages innovative and critical thinking. Applicants must hold a J.D. degree or the equivalent and demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence. Appointment rank will be determined commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Compensation The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000-$160,000 per year, plus comprehensive benefits package. Salary will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, and in consideration of internal equity.
