About The Position

Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) is seeking an Assistant/Associate/Professor of Family Medicine to support the department. This role is accountable for teaching, service, and scholarly activity objectives within the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM). The position reports directly to the Chair of Family Medicine & OPP. PNWU, founded in 2005, is a non-profit medical institution dedicated to increasing healthcare access in underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest. The university offers multiple health sciences degrees and serves over 550 students annually, with interprofessional education partnerships adding another 100 students. The campus has 300 employees and academic programming across a five-state region. Located in Yakima, WA, a city known for its agricultural and outdoor recreation, PNWU offers a dynamic environment for its faculty and staff.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree as recognized by United States accrediting associations, or appropriate terminal degree
  • Strong interest in a teaching-focused position
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills
  • Proficient use of academic technologies and learning management systems
  • Professional experience with an exemplary record of achievement in the areas of teaching, service and scholarly activity
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment with PNWU.

  • Experience working as a faculty member in a medical school in primary area of expertise preferred

Responsibilities

  • Meeting all classes as scheduled
  • Assisting in the recruitment and registration of students
  • Reporting final grades at the designated time
