About The Position

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) seeks a full-time Division Chief and Medical Director of Breast Imaging. This is a senior academic leadership role responsible for overseeing all clinical operations, education, research, and faculty development within a well-resourced breast imaging program located on the Gulf Coast. The program includes four dedicated breast imaging clinics, with plans for expansion. The team consists of six fellowship-trained breast imaging radiologists who focus exclusively on this subspecialty and have no general radiology duties or after-hours call. The program also supports two breast imaging fellowship positions and 8 radiology residents annually, providing opportunities for mentorship and educational scholarship. UTMB Health is an academic health science center with a strong history in medical education, research, and patient care, located in the vibrant communities of League City and Galveston.

Requirements

MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
Board Certification or Eligibility by the American Board of Radiology.
Ability to obtain an unrestricted Texas Medical License.
Fellowship training in breast imaging.
Comprehensive expertise across the full spectrum of breast imaging and procedures: tomosynthesis, diagnostic ultrasound, breast MRI, US-guided, stereotactic/tomosynthesis-guided, and MRI-guided biopsies, & pre-surgical localizations.

Nice To Haves

Experience with contrast-enhanced mammography.
Experience with cryoablation.

Responsibilities

Oversee all clinical operations of the breast imaging program.
Lead education initiatives within the division.
Direct research efforts in breast imaging.
Oversee faculty development for the breast imaging team.
Provide mentorship to fellowship and residency trainees.
Collaborate with other departments and institutions, including the Texas Medical Center, for clinical trials and research.
