About The Position

Savannah State University’s Department of Biology invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate professor level in animal genetics. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses associated with the Bachelors of Science in Biology; developing and teaching advanced-level courses in mammalian genetics; and contributing to interdisciplinary offerings. Mentor undergraduate students and sustain a vibrant research program that actively engages undergraduate students. The successful applicant will also participate in the growth and advancement of programs in Biology, including the development of a Master’s degree program in Biology. Undergraduate advisement required. May be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Requirements

Earned Ph.D. in Biology or field complementary to the Biology program required.
The candidate should have at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level as well as evidence of grant potential and scholarly activity.
A satisfactory background check is required.

Nice To Haves

Preference given to applicants with education and experience in mammalian genetics
Corresponding post-doctoral experience in interdisciplinary dimensions of contemporary Biology preferred.
