About The Position

The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking an assistant/associate professor whose teaching and scholarly research agenda is focused on Health Equity/Health Disparities with acute care experience. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate level courses. Faculty in this role will provide student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development, engage in program assessment accreditation-related procedures. The ideal candidate will be expected to: (i) establish and sustain a strong externally-funded research program in their field of expertise; (ii) produce an excellent record of scholarly publications; (iii) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate courses; (iv) supervise and support DNP student projects; and (vi ) provide service to the SON , the college and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations. T his is a 9-month, tenure-track position.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a PhD in nursing or DNP with a significant research track record.
  • Ability to establish and sustain a strong research enterprise, and have pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to health equity, health disparities ( general practice)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing’s educational requirement is required.
  • Three years clinical experience related to the concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care.
  • General practice in acute care setting preferred.
  • Nurse Educator Certification.
  • Skills with Blackboard LMS , Banner INB , and Microsoft Office Support Software preferred
