About The Position

The Resch School of Engineering at UW-Green Bay is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Mechanical Engineering at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor, starting in January 2027. We are seeking highly qualified and motivated individuals passionate about teaching labs and courses and shaping the future of our Mechanical Engineering program. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Materials, Manufacturing, or Controls and Automation. The successful candidate will collaborate with industry leaders, engage in real-world projects, and prepare students for the dynamic field of mechanical engineering.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution, to be completed no later than December 2026. However, we may consider ABD candidates who can demonstrate the ability to meet the requirements above.

  • Candidates applying for the Associate Professor rank must demonstrate a strong track record of success in teaching, research, and service consistent at that level.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a course load of 24 contact hours per academic year, with a 3-credit remission in the first academic year.
  • Instruct both theory and lab courses in the Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology programs.
  • Conduct assessment activities associated with ABET accreditation.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student success through active learning, high student engagement, and teamwork-focused pedagogical approaches.
  • Advise and mentor students
  • Develop a strong research program involving collaboration with students and faculty.
  • Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
  • Participate in institutional and community service.
  • Contribute to ongoing program development.
  • Implement inclusive instructional strategies to support students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW-Green Bay.
