The Psychology Department at the University of Alabama announces an opening for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in quantitative methods to begin August 2027, pending Board of Trustees approval. The department is composed of 37 faculty and just under 100 graduate students and enjoys strong support from the Barefield College of Arts & Sciences and the University. The department recently moved into a new state-of-the-art facility that includes a new sleep laboratory, wet lab, and specialized individual and shared research spaces. Faculty and graduate students are distributed in four clinical emphasis areas (Psychology and Law, Geropsychology, Health, and Child) and three experimental emphasis areas (Social, Cognitive and Brain Sciences, and Developmental). The Department offers bachelor’s degrees in psychology and in neuroscience, doctoral degrees in both clinical and experimental psychology, and graduate minors in neuroscience and in statistics.
