The Department of Genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (https://einsteinmed.edu/departments/genetics) was established in 1964 and has a storied history of major scientific accomplishments. Starting from seminal early work in developmental genetics in mice to the human genome project, to, more recently, advances in our understanding of the molecular underpinnings of aging and the complete neuronal wiring diagrams of two sexes in the nematode C. elegans, the department has stood out through its diversity of thought, scientific questions and the experimental systems to answer them. The department currently has 11 primary faculty and, is home to the New York Center for Rare Diseases (NYCRD). Embedded in a highly collegial and collaborative environment at Einstein, it embodies the mission of the school to pursue research and teaching at the highest level with the goal to promote health both broadly and locally in the communities we serve in the Bronx. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES The Department of Genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine – Montefiore Medical Center invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position from qualified candidates with a research interest in fundamental and translational research using genetic or genomic approaches. We welcome applications from candidates with an established track record using a wide range of biological systems to answer bold, new and exciting biological and health questions with innovative approaches. We seek candidates who are prepared to contribute to our commitment to excellence in research, education, mentoring, and collaboration. Successful candidates are expected to establish and maintain a vibrant research program supported by extramural funding. QUALIFICATIONS Candidates will be considered for tenure-track positions at the Assistant and Associate Professor level. Applicants must have a PhD, MD/PhD, MD, or equivalent degree.
