The Mississippi State University, College of Veterinary Medicine has an immediate opening for a tenure track faculty position in Veterinary Anesthesiology. PARF is running concurrently with PARF 510179 with the intent to only hire one position. Salary Grade : UC Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department. Anesthesiology Teaching responsibilities will include didactic/clinical training for professional, graduate and technology students enrolled at the College of Veterinary Medicine, and veterinary anesthesiology resident preparation. Service responsibilities will be shared with three other anesthesiologists and one veterinary anesthetist, and seven certified veterinary anesthesia technicians and will comprise a small and large animal anesthesia management in a teaching hospital environment, including participation in the after-hours emergency service. Establishment of a strong record of research and scholarly activity is expected. Qualified candidates must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent and be eligible for licensure in the state of Mississippi. Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiology and Analgesia is preferred, but individuals with other ACVAA-recognized anesthesia board certification credentials, and residency trained individuals eligible for final certification examination, will also be considered. An advanced degree and/or experience in clinical research are preferred. Excellent telephone and email communication skills, especially related to client service. Must be capable of working in a team environment comprised of doctors, staff, and students to provide veterinary care of patients and aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students. Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands. Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
