About The Position

The Exercise Science program, located in the School of Sport Science and Management in the College of Health and Human Sciences, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Exercise Science beginning in Fall 2027. The School of Sport Science & Management offers undergraduate degrees in Exercise Science, Health Science and Wellness, Sport Management/Marketing, as well as master's degrees in Athletic Training, and Sport Administration. The Exercise Science program’s teaching and research laboratory is housed in the Health United Building, a state-of-the-art facility that was designed as a national model of excellence for collegiate academic, health, wellness, and recreational services. Requirements

• Earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Science, or related field.
• ABD applicants will be considered but must complete all requirements for their doctoral degree by August 2027.
• To be considered for the associate professor position, candidates must have a minimum of five years teaching experience at an accredited college or university and a clearly-defined record of scholarship and publications.

Nice To Haves

• Preference will be given to candidates with NSCA and/or ACSM certification(s) and demonstrated potential to meet research expectations.

Responsibilities

• Teaching undergraduate courses within the Exercise Science curriculum, including but not limited to Introduction to Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology and Lab, Nutrition for Sport & Exercise, Exercise Training Principles, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Biomechanics, Sports Psychology, Research Methods, Sport Science, Cardiopulmonary Testing and Prescription, Fitness in Special Populations.
• Maintaining an active program of scholarship consistent with expectations for tenure and promotion.
• Advising and mentoring students regarding academic planning, professional development, and career opportunities.
• Participating in program, school, college, and university service activities.
