About The Position

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for a teaching-focused tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, preferably with a background in power and energy systems. The role involves being part of a close-knit group of engineering educators with a passion for producing innovative engineers that impact the world through principled leadership. The department offers undergraduate degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, as well as a non-thesis MSEE degree. Faculty teach 9 months full-time each year, typically a combination of lecture and lab classes with small class sizes (seldom more than 15-20 students per section) and faculty rarely required to prepare for more than two lecture courses each term.

Requirements

BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a closely related field, to be completed by the first day of employment
Demonstrated potential and interest in engineering education
Commitment to student advising
Commitment to continuous professional development

Nice To Haves

Background in power and energy systems
Highly qualified ABD candidates with a clear path to completion will be considered under rare circumstances
Securing external research grants is encouraged but not required
