About The Position

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for a teaching-focused tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, preferably with a background in power and energy systems. The role involves being part of a close-knit group of engineering educators with a passion for producing innovative engineers that impact the world through principled leadership. The department offers undergraduate degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, as well as a non-thesis MSEE degree. Faculty teach 9 months full-time each year, typically a combination of lecture and lab classes with small class sizes (seldom more than 15-20 students per section) and faculty rarely required to prepare for more than two lecture courses each term.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a closely related field, to be completed by the first day of employment
  • Demonstrated potential and interest in engineering education
  • Commitment to student advising
  • Commitment to continuous professional development

Nice To Haves

  • Background in power and energy systems
  • Highly qualified ABD candidates with a clear path to completion will be considered under rare circumstances
  • Securing external research grants is encouraged but not required
