The Webb School of Engineering at High Point University invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Engineering, with an expected start date of January 1, 2027. A later start date is feasible. The successful candidate will join the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and contribute to the continued growth of computing and engineering programs within the School. We seek a creative, dynamic, and student-centered teacher-scholar who will play an important role in delivering high-quality undergraduate instruction, developing innovative and active-learning classroom and laboratory experiences, mentoring students, pursuing scholarly research, and contributing to department, school, university, and professional service. The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate courses in Computer Engineering and related areas. While research specialization is open, the successful candidate is likely to teach courses such as Real-Time and Embedded Systems; Computer Architecture; Digital Logic and Computer Systems; Microprocessor Applications; Digital Signal Processing; and related courses in computer engineering, electrical engineering, and computing systems. Additional expectations include academic advising, supporting undergraduate research, assisting with curriculum development and assessment, contributing to ABET accreditation efforts, supporting student recruitment and retention, and serving on department, school, and university committees. Faculty appointments are for a nine-month contract period with a normal teaching load of 12 contact hours per semester.
