About The Position

The College of Health and Wellness Professionals at St. Cloud State University invites applications for a Fixed Term Non-Probationary position in Community Health within the Department of Kinesiology, Community Health, and Gerontology. The faculty workload includes twenty-four (24) credits of instruction per academic year, requiring the development and delivery of course content in face-to-face, hybrid, and online modes. Teaching will occur on weekdays, evenings, and/or online. The position involves mentoring undergraduate students, supervising internship experiences, and developing relationships with community organizations/agencies. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in various subjects including Principles of Nutrition, Personal and Community Health, Theory and Foundation in Community Health, Consumer Health, Public Health, International Health, Drugs in Society, Advanced Nutrition, Anatomy/Kinesiology, Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Health Promotions, and Senior Seminar. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or Community Health
  • A minimum of two years teaching at the higher education level in Public Health or Community Health
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (C.H.E.S), completing during employment
  • Demonstrated commitment to student engagement, mentoring, and student success
  • Demonstrated strong interests and/or abilities to teach in Principles of Nutrition, Personal and Community Health, Theory and Foundation in Community Health, Consumer Health, Public Health, International Health, Drugs in Society, Advanced Nutrition, Anatomy/Kinesiology, Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Health Promotions, and Senior Seminar
  • Demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate level in both online and face-to-face settings
  • Demonstrated effective written, oral communication, and/or presentation skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment
  • Eligible to work in the United States on or before the effective date of appointment (U.S. citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, or a foreign national authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship)
  • Maintain work authorization without sponsorship for the duration of their appointment

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D in Public Health or Community Health
  • Health Educator Experience working with State, County, or Community Agencies
  • Health Promotions experience, administration and organization of events
  • Supervision of undergraduate students in Community Health placement settings/agencies
  • Experience developing, planning, and coordinating Health Education programs, services and campaigns
