About The Position

The University of Arkansas School of Law is seeking applicants for a 9-month, 100% appointed, tenure/tenure track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (based on qualifications) to teach the Criminal Practice Clinic starting in the 2027-2028 academic year. The selected candidate will be responsible for directing and teaching the clinic each semester, supervising student law practice, teaching the clinic seminar, managing the clinic's docket, and providing regular feedback to students, including through weekly supervision meetings. Collaboration with other faculty and clinic staff on administrative matters of the clinical program is also expected. In addition to teaching, faculty in the clinical program are expected to engage fully in scholarship and service at the law school. Candidates must possess a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students. Applicants must show an excellent record of scholarship or, at the entry level, strong potential for scholarship. A commitment to service within and outside the University is also required. Requirements

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students.
• An excellent record of scholarship or, at the entry level, a strong potential for scholarship.
• A commitment to service within and outside the University.
• A law license.
• Two years of legal experience.
• Eligible for admission to the Arkansas bar.
• Experience teaching, mentoring or supervising law students, legal interns, or attorneys.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Tenure-track teaching experience.
