The School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in artificial intelligence (AI) to advance comparative biomedical sciences and clinical veterinary medicine. The aim is to build on existing strengths and foster collaborative opportunities across schools and colleges at UW-Madison to pioneer AI in veterinary medicine and to develop technologies that impact other health sciences. This position complements campus efforts through the Wisconsin Research, Innovation and Scholarly Excellence (RISE)-AI initiative. There are excellent opportunities for the new faculty member to benefit from existing SVM and campus strengths in comparative biomedical sciences, One Health, planetary health, and agricultural and food research. Faculty within the School of Veterinary Medicine train graduate students in the Comparative Biomedical Sciences Training Program and other campus graduate programs. They also serve as trainers on a variety of NIH training grants. The new faculty member will be able to engage with numerous resources and facilities on campus. Additional opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration exist across multiple schools and colleges.
