Under the general direction of the Chair of Medical Education, the faculty member is responsible for teaching, research, and research support activities that advance the institution's educational and scholarly missions. California University of Science and Medicine School of Medicine (CUSM-SOM) offers educational programs, including the Doctor of Medicine (MD) and the Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) program and supports research initiatives through centers such as the Center for Brain and Behavioral Health. The faculty member will provide instruction in statistical theory, biostatistics, bioinformatics, and research methods, including study design, data analysis, interpretation of quantitative findings, and scientific reporting. Areas of application include observational studies, clinical trials, computational and quantitative analysis, medical and public health research, and related disciplines. Teaching responsibilities include coursework within the MD and MBS programs, facilitation of scholarly programs and activities, delivery of co-curricular workshops, and faculty development programs. The faculty member fosters students' ability to apply quantitative methods and communicate effectively with researchers and healthcare professionals across disciplines. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the faculty member provides direct statistical and data analysis support through the Office of Medical Education data analysis Lab, collaborating with students, faculty, research staff, and clinical partners to support qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of research and scholarly work. The faculty member also engages in independent and collaborative research activities aligned with CUSM's strategic priorities, contributing to the generation, dissemination, and application of knowledge that advances healthcare education and outcomes.
