About The Position

Dreamwear, a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company, is seeking an Assistant Intimate Apparel Designer to join the Danskin daywear team. This role could also be an Associate-level position for candidates with 2+ years of experience. Danskin, a brand known for its heritage in ballet and evolution into a female lifestyle brand, focuses on creating fashionable, comfort-conscious intimate apparel and sleepwear with soft tones and feminine details. The Design team is responsible for setting seasonal trends, colors, and styles, creating apparel designs for internal and external presentations, and managing the sample development and production process. The ideal candidate will align with the Danskin aesthetic, be self-motivated, eager to learn, and capable of executing essential responsibilities within a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of experience in fashion or intimate apparel.
  • Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, & Microsoft Excel.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Candidate must be passionate about fashion and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Research the market and assist designer with seasonal trends, colors, prints and silhouettes to support the senior team.
  • Attend and assist in design meetings, proto reviews, and line reviews.
  • Assist in preparations for product presentations and market week.
  • Manage execution of production packages including color and trim specifications and preparing production ready print and graphic artwork.
  • Project manage production timelines, sending out artwork and color standards.
  • Check sample requests, development packages, and production packages for accuracy, (including pricing), prior to sending to factories.
  • Correspond with overseas factories regarding production.
  • Oversee production work of assistant designers; delegate work and tasks based on priority.
  • Work with senior team in choosing colors and prints for design presentations.
  • Assist designers with the trim and fabric library, color pallets, and flat sketching.
  • Recolor prints in multiple seasonal colorways.
  • Assist Designer with strike offs and lab dips.
  • Execute organized and accurate technical development packages that include construction details, sketches, fabrications, trims, print, and color details.
  • Attend fittings to support senior team.
  • Manage day to day projects including filing and organizing.
