About The Position

The Assistant AD of Trademarks and Licensing manages the daily operations of the Athletic Trademarks and Licensing Department. This role focuses on the continued growth of royalty-bearing licensing revenues for a top brand. The position establishes the overall strategic direction of the program, including staffing, budget, and resource optimization in collaboration with the Alabama Athletics Marketing Team (Digital Marketing, Fan Experience and Licensing). The Assistant AD directs and provides departmental leadership in Licensing program and NIL strategies and programs, with oversight of the entire Trademark and Licensing program. Additionally, this role provides overall management and daily operation of the University's Trademark Licensing Program, monitors and develops new and innovative concepts for trademark licensing, and establishes and maintains strategic direction for the licensing program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of licensing, marketing and/or communications within an intercollegiate athletics department and/or licensing industry organization experience; OR Master's degree and four (4) years of licensing, marketing and/or communications within an intercollegiate athletics department and/or licensing industry organization experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of trademark practices.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and other related software.
  • Final candidate(s) must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge and experience with CLC or licensing industry and CLC systems.
