About The Position

University Housing is now hiring! We are seeking a professional to support key housing operations through data-driven decision-making in addition to leading outreach efforts with prospective students and families, including managing housing tours. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in using complex systems (such as StarRez) to analyze data, inform housing assignments, and resolve multifaceted issues. The Assignments & Student Services Coordinator advises students and families in preparation for their residential experience, directs activities related to contracting and assignments, and helps achieve Division occupancy goals, including learning and theme communities.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience working with data to inform decisions and manage complex issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of prior experience in Student Housing / Residence Life
  • Two (2) years of experience leading outreach or engagement programs, including presenting to large in-person audiences and delivering content through diverse online platforms.
  • Administrative experience with a Housing Information System (e.g. StarRez)
  • Additional consideration given to degrees in communications or public relations fields.
  • Masters’s degree preferred.
  • Additional consideration given to degrees in communications, public relations, or a higher education field (student affairs, educational leadership, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Strategizes, advises, and resolves complicated and sensitive housing-related issues, policy questions, requests, and appeals, including matters related to student resident disabilities and gender identity
  • Drafts, implements, and maintains annual contracts and memos with a variety of campus programs and academic departments
  • Leads divisional outreach efforts with prospective students and families, including the housing tour program
  • Analyzes data for housing assignments and develops solutions for student issues
  • Plans, directs, and implements housing initiatives and manages occupancy for all university terms
  • Collaborates with campus groups and/or departments and maintains successful campus partnerships, while representing the interests of the division
  • Advises internal and external stakeholders about housing units, contracts, and options
  • May supervise student employees
