This position is for an Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) who will provide coverage in short-term, surge, and on-demand situations for the Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) program. The role supports military needs such as post-deployment events or covers existing assignments for absent counselors. The Summer ARC counselor position specifically covers assignments during the May 15th through September 15th period. With minimal guidance, the ARC provides a full range of Adult or Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. Services include non-medical counseling, training and health/wellness presentations, consultation with parents, school personnel, and installation command. CYB counselors may be assigned to DoDEA schools, community schools, youth programs, summer camps, and on-demand assignments. Adult counselors may support MFLC services in various military community and readiness centers. Counselors collaborate with installation Points of Contact (POC) to ensure program scope and needs are met. They provide non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling, assessment, brief counseling, action planning, referral, and follow-up. CYB counselors also focus on supporting staff at Child Development Centers (CDCs), schools, youth programs, and summer camps, as well as providing parent training. Counselors are responsible for daily data entry via smartphone or web application, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and anonymity.
