About The Position

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Asset Protection Supervisor to be responsible for safety, asset protection, and inventory control. This role involves leading and executing inventory counts, supervising and directing the work of Team Members in the asset protection and inventory control departments. The Supervisor will create and maintain a safe club environment through theft deterrence strategies, member engagement, and adherence to safety standards. Key responsibilities include managing physical and systemic processes, reverse logistics, ensuring inventory accuracy, and monitoring all company asset protection programs. The role emphasizes leadership, team member development, and ensuring excellent member service and club standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, college degree, and/or big box wholesale, retail, grocery and/or management experience is preferred.
  • Prior asset protection, safety, and/or inventory control experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including managing/supervising cross-functional teams, training team members, and driving and communicating results.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Open shift availability required.
  • At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Performs safety inspections, instructs on accident prevention, and assists in accident investigations.
  • Handles worker’s compensation and general liability rates.
  • Develops and teaches company asset prevention programs and initiatives.
  • Leads, executes, and investigates results from the inventory count program.
  • Performs inventory counts and manages inventory control functions.
  • Oversees count teams and programs.
  • Implements best practices and programs focused on operational shrink deterrence.
  • Oversees Inventory Control Driver and assigned responsibilities.
  • Oversees RTV process and ensures accuracy of damage, return to vendor, and transfers.
  • Validates that all merchandise leaving the back doors has been processed per company guidelines.
  • Develops effective and productive teams in the asset protection and/or inventory control departments through selection, training, managing, assessment, evaluating performance, coaching, motivating, and performance management.
  • Executes Asset Protection Routines as outlined in the Asset Protection Supervisor Calendar.
  • Completes weekly review of the club shrink report, monthly annotation on the shrink (over $500) report, and investigates/resolves variances.
  • Plans and executes the cycle inventory preparation process.
  • Executes merchandise protection standards focused on current club theft trends.
  • Partners with RAPM and investigates internal and external theft, fraud, and organized retail crime cases.
  • Communicates results of investigations and provides updates to leadership based upon facts of each case.
  • Conducts weekly CCTV review per the Asset Protection calendar.
  • Completes weekly data entry of inventory recoveries per the Asset Protection calendar.
  • Manages, reviews, and resolves losses identified through exception-based reporting and cash variances.
  • Maintains all club policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
  • Ensures a safe and positive environment and experience for team members and members.
  • Drives a culture of development, strategic thinking and acting, ethical decision making and engagement.
  • Guarantees service excellence through all points of contact.
  • Sets service standard expectations for all team members.
  • Provides team support and empowerment to resolve every member concern.
  • Leads teams to deliver GOLD club standards daily.
  • Acquires a deep knowledge of key metrics and reporting for total club and department performance.
  • Drives performance and profitability by using reporting to identify trends and areas of opportunity.
  • Corrects breakdowns in process before they negatively impact club performance metrics.
  • Communicates a simple message to the team on the connection between consistent operational performance and achieving club financial targets.
