About The Position

The Asset Protection Supervisor supports the Asset Protection Manager (APM), District Asset Protection Manager, Asset Protection Investigators (API), Store Leadership, and all store Associates. This role is responsible for the daily oversight of Asset Protection operations and personnel, ensuring consistent execution of theft prevention, safety programs, compliance, and investigative practices. In the absence of the APM, the Supervisor must be able to assume full responsibility for all Asset Protection functions. This role sets a high ethical tone, reinforces company values, and builds strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. The Supervisor must assess risk, communicate effectively, and ensure compliance with company policies as well as local, state, and federal laws.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence interacting with store leadership and presenting to large groups
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency with retail security systems, reporting platforms, and productivity software
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Experience leading diverse teams to achieve operational, statistical, and developmental goals

Responsibilities

  • Support safe selling environments through consistent policy and procedure adherence
  • Facilitate store-wide communication, training, new hire orientation, safety sessions, and shortage meetings
  • Participate in Store Leadership meetings as appropriate
  • Oversee execution of the API floor ownership program
  • Model and support the Saks Global customer experience standards
  • Lead execution of the local shortage strategy
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for ongoing improvement
  • Support APM in planning and executing annual physical inventory and reconciliation
  • Ensure all physical security standards are maintained and issues addressed promptly
  • Provide daily supervision, guidance, and direction to Investigators
  • Ensure compliance with apprehension guidelines and applicable laws
  • Assist the APM with training, coaching, and technical development of staff
  • Ensure completion of required training and certification programs
  • Provide performance feedback for APIs and support mid-year/annual review process
  • Create and manage weekly audit schedules, delegate tasks, and ensure accurate documentation
  • Conduct operational audits and internal self-audits in sensitive areas
  • Summarize audit findings for APM and Store Leadership
  • Review and manage API case reports for accuracy, timeliness, and investigative effectiveness
  • Assist with camera installations and follow-up reviews
  • Identify and address internal and external theft exposures to meet investigative goals
  • Partner with the APM on preparing investigations for the interview phase
