About The Position

At Green Thumb Industries and RISE Dispensaries, the Asset Protection Specialist (APS) is the welcoming face of the dispensary, responsible for creating an elevated, friendly, and concierge-style experience for guests. This role blends hospitality, customer service, and safety leadership to enhance the customer journey and team member experience. APS are active, professional, and approachable stewards of the company's culture, safety, and brand values, ensuring everyone feels safe, respected, and cared for. It is a dynamic role that requires physical readiness to act with urgency and is not a traditional security role.

Requirements

  • At least one year of customer-facing or concierge experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and/or compliance technology preferred.
  • Security, military, or law enforcement experience is a plus when paired with a strong commitment to guest-first, hospitality-focused service.
  • Ability to work a schedule inclusive of varying shifts (mornings, days, nights, weekends) to meet business needs.
  • Must have reliable, responsible, and dependable attendance.
  • Must pass all required background checks including state-specific cannabis employment requirements.
  • Possess valid driver’s license or state ID.
  • Must be 21 years or older and meet all state-specific cannabis employment requirements.
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
  • Ability to remain alert and responsive during extended periods.
  • Ability to move about the dispensary to fulfill work assignments and assist customers in various locations.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position if required.
  • Ability to converse and communicate with individuals and groups of people directly.
  • Ability to operate point of sale system, computer, and other office productivity machinery.
  • Ability to inspect and receive detailed information.
  • Ability to move inventory and materials weighing up to 30 pounds independently.
  • Ability to position self to move inventory and materials in storage areas.
  • Comfortable standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Friendly, professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and empathetic in stressful situations.
  • Consistent demonstration of excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees.
  • Ability to listen well and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • Understanding of applicable cannabis laws and regulations, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions and incorporate constructive criticism.
  • Operate with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information and complying with HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all visitors with warmth and positivity as the first point of contact.
  • Manage guest check-in professionally and efficiently, adhering to compliance standards.
  • Set a positive atmosphere ('RISE Vibe') from the moment customers enter.
  • Provide basic concierge support, answering questions and directing traffic.
  • Serve as a visible, approachable, and responsive presence to deter incidents and maintain order.
  • Monitor dispensary areas, including entry/exit and perimeters, for safety, comfort, and compliance.
  • De-escalate situations with empathy, tact, and clear communication.
  • Support team members and store operations in safety, cleanliness, compliance, and guest flow by escorting customers and visitors.
  • Remain alert and mobile at all times.
  • Report and respond appropriately and urgently to safety, security, or compliance incidents.
  • Support emergency procedures and preparedness (fire, evacuation, weather).
  • Conduct visual inspections and checks per SOPs to maintain a secure and hazard-free environment.
  • Foster strong relationships and mutual trust with store teams, leadership, and customers.
  • Share insights on guest interactions, safety concerns, and security risks with transparency and discretion.
  • Support the training of new APS team members by modeling professional and compliant behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
