The Asset Protection Service Associate supports Shrinkage and Safety Awareness programs by aiding Store Management in communicating current shrinkage and safety topics. This role involves conducting surveillance using CCTV and floor observation to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity, and collecting investigative intelligence related to organized retail crime (ORC) and fraud. The associate may monitor team member activity as directed by AP management and report policy infractions. Responsibilities include detaining and interviewing suspects (customers and contractors) in accordance with local laws and company policy, reporting suspected fraud, and maintaining records using approved company methods, including proper evidence retention and disposition of recovered merchandise. The role also requires participation in court hearings, updating files, and maintaining relationships with local law enforcement. Additionally, the associate supports safety programs by identifying and addressing potential hazards, correcting minor hazards, and conducting incident investigations and reports. They will also support internal investigations by collecting evidence and acting as an interview witness as needed. All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with company policies and procedures to drive sales and profit.
