About The Position

This is a front-line career in retail security where vigilance, professionalism, and quick decision-making help create a safe shopping environment while reducing theft and fraud in high-volume grocery and pharmacy settings. The role involves safeguarding the business, employees, and customers through active prevention of theft, fraud, and policy violations, as well as conducting investigations and collaborating with law enforcement when necessary. The position requires a visible and professional presence in-store to deter illicit activities and reduce shrink by partnering with store leadership to identify loss trends and implement prevention strategies. The role also ensures compliance with company standards, security policies, and provincial regulations, requiring adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule.

Requirements

Valid Provincial Security Guard License
Understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related legislation.
Experience with CCTV, surveillance tools, and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Approachable, confident, and respectful with exceptional communication skills.
High level of trustworthiness, accountability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Candidates who are 18 years or older are required to complete a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in grocery, pharmacy, or other high-volume retail environments is an asset.

Responsibilities

Actively prevent theft, fraud, and policy violations by maintaining a visible and professional presence in-store.
Safely and lawfully detain offenders, following all company and legal procedures.
Conduct detailed internal and external investigations, gather and analyze evidence, and work closely with law enforcement when required.
Partner with store leadership to identify loss trends and implement effective prevention strategies.
Ensure compliance with company standards, security policies, and provincial regulations.
Adapt quickly to new challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule.
