This position manages, inspects, and protects a designated portion of the approximate 33,000 miles of purchased easement and fee owned Transmission corridors to ensure customers, contractors, and developers are in compliance with the established AP guidelines. The position collaborates with and presents guidelines to stakeholders and customers and participates in the decision making of the release of transmission easements and selling of fee owned property. In performing the duties, this position must review technical engineering drawings and site plans to ensure that customers, contractors, and developers comply with Duke Energy's guidelines and recorded property rights documents. Engineering plan reviews require a general knowledge of engineering standards, construction standards and techniques, future transmission planning, OSHA rules, NESC rules, as well as other applicable rules. Duties also include the removal of existing encroachments and execution of relevant encroachment agreements. The job requires legal involvement in which the position must be able to maintain detailed documentation, read and interpret legal documents, give depositions, and testify in a court of law. Depending upon the desired qualifications of the successful applicant, the hiring manager may elect to fill this position at a higher level within the job hierarchy.
