The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for observing activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity, collecting investigative evidence using CCTV and sales floor observations, and executing required company investigation routines. This role involves conducting external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft, reporting suspected fraud and policy infractions, and creating/managing records for apprehensions, witness statements, evidence retention, and merchandise disposition. The associate will also collect evidence and monitor associate activity for internal investigations as directed by leadership, proactively identify potential theft and fraud, investigate suspicious behavior, attend court hearings, and analyze intelligence on individuals involved in theft. Additionally, the role supports a safety culture by communicating shrinkage and safety topics, identifying and correcting hazards, providing emergency response, assisting with incident investigations and audits, and coaching associates on hazard prevention. The associate must meet established performance standards for service, productivity, and attendance.
