About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Full-Time Asset Protection Associate. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure and safe environment for both customers and associates, while also contributing to the company's goal of being the best retailer in the USA. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Proven track record of strong communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work night, weekend, and/or early morning hours based on business needs
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with local authorities and law enforcement agencies.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and other local retailers to identify organized retail crime threats.
  • Assist leadership with cash handling and transfers.
  • Observe customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraud.
  • Address external theft concerns through uniform presence with strategic methods, as well as apprehending shoplifters when appropriate, according to company policy, ethical standards, and guidelines.
  • Monitor video via CCTV and conduct on-site interviews.
  • Document incidents by creating objective and thorough reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all apprehension and investigation records according to company standards.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipment.
  • Assist in monitoring store compliance with company policies and procedures relating to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls, as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a highly visible deterrent to crime and positively influence the security incident rate, as well as assist with inventory controls.
  • Help mitigate security risks to provide a safer environment for employees and customers.
  • Welcome all customers, visitors, and vendors professionally, and assist them in locating staff within the stores.
  • Issue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and assist in obtaining wheelchairs and shopping carts.
  • Examine and properly tag property being brought into the stores, including personal property, equipment for service, and firearms.
  • Watch facilities and parking areas on foot.
  • Direct traffic during special events or heavy customer traffic, while enforcing parking regulations.
  • Make regularly scheduled floor and exterior walks to ensure the safety and security of the customers and facility.
  • Complete monthly reports on safe or non-safe practices found on the sales floor or backstocks.
