About The Position

The Asset Protection Associate plays a key role in creating and maintaining a safe, secure, and professional store environment for customers, associates, visitors, and vendors. By following Asset Protection standards and demonstrating positive, professional behaviour, this role helps prevent financial and physical loss, reduce shrink, and support store profitability. Through awareness, observation, and teamwork, the Asset Protection Associate helps protect people, merchandise, and the overall shopping experience.

  • Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts daily patrols of the store to help ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Verifies that doors, showcases, and security features are functioning properly and takes action as required.
  • Investigates incidents of financial and physical shrink and communicates findings to Store Leadership.
  • Escalates information to the Market Loss Prevention Manager in accordance with Company guidelines for internal investigations.
  • Conducts or supports investigations related to internal theft, external theft, organized retail crime, and cases assigned through Walmart Canada Global Ethics.
  • Supports store evacuation and emergency procedures during incidents such as fire or other emergencies.
  • Participates in store task team responsibilities as required to support overall operations.
  • Carries out external apprehensions when required, in compliance with Company policies and legal standards.
  • Gathers and communicates information from multiple sources, clearly explaining issues and findings to leadership and other stakeholders while presenting relevant perspectives.
  • Completes additional responsibilities as required to support evolving business needs and Asset Protection priorities.
