King County's Facilities Management Division (FMD) has a career service opportunity for an Asset Manager (Project/Program Manager III). The Asset Manager will serve as the technical expert responsible for the development and implementation of the Facilities Management Division (FMD) asset management program. This position develops and maintains the FMD Asset Management strategies, policies, and procedures and serves as a consultant / advisor in implementation of the asset management plan and procedures, helping the organization focus on reinvestment strategies that support sound financial performance and high occupancy rates. This position provides expert guidance to align maintenance processes with organizational objectives to ensure assets are maintained in alignment with industry standard best asset management practices. This position serves on the Capital Planning Section leadership team and may be asked to act in the absence of the Manager. FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION Through a workforce of over 300 dedicated employees, the Facilities Management Division (FMD) operates and manages the County's capital assets by developing and maintaining cost-conscious, sustainable, high-quality facilities, and environments. The Facilities Management Division maintains approximately 3 million square feet in facilities where King County provides regional services, including the King County Courthouse and District Courts, Maleng Regional Justice Center, King County Administration Building, King County Animal Shelter, and several Public Health facilities. The division is comprised of six sections and workgroups, supported by the Director’s Office and Human Resources: Building Operations Section, Major Projects and Capital Planning Section, Operations and Finance Section, Customer Experience Section (including Parking Operations and the King County Print Shop), Real Estate Services, Security Management Section.
