About The Position

The ABL Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of Asset Based Lending (ABL) accounts from the point of origination through the life of the relationship. This role focuses on maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring credit quality, and supporting the growth and retention of clients. The Account Manager serves as a central point of coordination between clients and internal teams. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of financial analysis, credit principles, ongoing ABL monitoring and overall relationship management in conjunction with the market Regional Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (preference for business-related or STEM)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ABL, underwriting, field examination, credit officer, and/or loan officer role
  • Require extensive knowledge of credit policy, banking regulations, and loan documentation issues
  • Ability to read and interpret financial and legal documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and independent problem solving skills
  • Must possess knowledge of various loan structures and have the ability to apply this knowledge in the formulation of sound credit recommendations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively set priorities in a performance-driven environment
  • Fully understand and work effectively within the credit culture of the company; ability to promote credit culture within the team
  • Solid ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of individual requests and make recommendations to address and mitigate perceived risks

Responsibilities

  • Manages credit risk of a portfolio of ABL relationships (includes regular evaluation of risk rating, covenant compliance, borrowing base trends, reporting requirements, etc.)
  • Develops and maintains relationship with assigned ABL clients including regular meetings and calls
  • Maintains up-to-date assessment of relationships as well as current credit and legal files
  • Coordinate with internal partners on line (e.g. market RM, Treasury) and Credit sides
  • Analyzes client operating performance and financial condition, proactively identifies issues and opportunities, and recommends risk mitigation (includes managing problem credits when applicable)
  • Responsible for monitoring and managing credit quality and data integrity
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all deal stakeholders including clients, market RM, and Credit teams to address client needs and evolving business conditions
