About The Position

An Assessment Specialist Supervisor (RN) joining the Lifepoint Behavioral Health team is embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. This position is responsible for supporting the needs of the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence. The role facilitates response to requests for services, including the initial response, the assessment and referral process, the designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow-up activity. The supervisor conducts initial evaluations, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs, and provides information to the MD for LOC determination. The role also demonstrates excellent customer service skills, possesses clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA, and maintains all pre-admission and admission paperwork with accuracy, completing all pre-certifications with insurance companies.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Degree from an accredited nursing school
  • RN license as required by state regulations
  • BLS and De-escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Strong clinical assessment skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates response to request for services, including the initial response, the assessment and referral process, the designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services and appropriate follow up activity
  • Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documenting patient symptomology, functioning, needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA
  • Maintains all pre-admission and admission paperwork with accuracy, completes all per-certification with insurance companies
  • Ensures appropriate staffing for shift
  • Minimizes use of overtime
  • Assists in monitoring attendance
  • Educates and coaches staff and acts as a point person for clinical decisions
  • Reports all issues and incidents to the Director of appropriately
  • Ensure staff has completed all needed documentation, call logging, insurance calls, and additional tasks prior to the end of shift
