As an Assessment Specialist joining their team, you’re embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. This role involves facilitating the response to a request for services, including the initial response, assessment, referral process, designation of the appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow-up activity. The specialist will conduct initial evaluations, initiate assessments, document patient symptomatology, functioning, and needs, and provide information to MD for LOC determination. Excellent customer service skills are essential in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers promptly and courteously. The role requires clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA. Maintaining all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy and completing all pre-certification with insurance companies are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required) or a Master’s degree in Social Work/Counseling (required)
  • Current clinical, social work or RN license as required by state regulations
  • CPR and De-escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Must have strong clinical assessment skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred
