About The Position
VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), a leader in Correctional Health Care, is seeking a Full-Time Assessment Clinician for the Massachusetts Treatment Center (MTC) in Bridgewater, MA. This role is crucial for providing essential services to an underserved population, specifically by completing comprehensive psychological assessments for individuals convicted of sexual offenses. These assessments are vital for developing individualized treatment plans aimed at reducing the risk of re-offense upon release. The Assessment Clinician will support sex offense-specific treatment (SOT) teams by conducting thorough psychological assessments, with a focus on sexual offense-specific risk assessment. Following the assessment, the clinician will prepare written reports that interpret findings, conceptualize the evaluee, and offer specific recommendations to guide treatment. These reports will address Risk-Need-Responsivity factors, adhering to best practices for the treatment of individuals who have engaged in sexual offense conduct, with the overarching goal of preventing future victims. The role contributes to ending sexual violence by addressing dynamic risk factors, improving quality of life, fostering a sense of purpose, and establishing healthy behaviors. The program views sexual offense conduct as a symptom of broader issues, offering a holistic, strength-based treatment program aligned with ATSA best practices. Assessment Clinicians may also provide direct-care services, such as facilitating therapeutic groups, on an as-needed basis. An ideal candidate will hold a master’s degree in a human service-related field, be license-eligible (e.g., LICSW, LMHC), and possess strong clinical skills, including case conceptualization and clinical writing. Experience with psychological assessment and report writing is expected. The position is well-suited for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments with challenging clinical cases. Weekly individual clinical supervision, as well as group and small-team supervision, is provided at no cost. Prior experience in sexual abuse treatment and prevention is preferred but not required, as comprehensive training is provided.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a human service-related field (e.g., social work, psychology, mental health counseling).
- License-eligible (e.g., LICSW, LMHC).

Responsibilities
- Completing comprehensive psychological assessments to aid in the treatment of individuals convicted of sexual offenses.
- Developing individualized treatment plans aimed at decreasing risk of re-offense upon release.
- Conducting thorough psychological assessments, with an emphasis on sexual offense-specific risk assessment.
- Preparing written reports that interpret findings, conceptualize the evaluee, and provide specific recommendations that guide treatment.
- Addressing the specific Risk-Need-Responsivity factors that serve as the foundation of the treatment model.
- Identifying salient risk factors that will be a focus of treatment for each participant.
- Providing a variety of direct-care services, such as facilitation of therapeutic groups, on an as-needed basis.
- Facilitation of thorough interviews with treatment participants.
- Administering, scoring, and interpreting a variety of psychological assessment measures (e.g., PAI, STABLE-2007, Static, PCL-R).
- Completion of comprehensive assessment reports.
- Completion of clinical documentation following contacts.
- Participation in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Other clinical duties as assigned.
