About The Position

The Assessment and Transition Coordinator, College and Career Readiness (CCR) works closely with all CCR students to support their immediate entry into CCR offerings and to guide their progress and success from program entry through graduation. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of College and Career Readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a federally accredited institution
  • Experience working with minority populations
  • Strong computer skills (including familiarity with MS Office 2016)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with others in a team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to a student-centered philosophy and approach to learning
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, and weekend hours at multiple sites

Responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact for all interested and incoming CCR students and their families on both campuses, ensuring parallel/similar onboarding processes.
  • Coordinate with CCR Directors on site to place students in the appropriate program.
  • Collaborate and meet with Admissions and Advising as needed.
  • Ensure that program information is included in orientation and that all required admission and compliance documentation is completed prior to participation.
  • Conduct orientations as needed.
  • Create and/or assist with appointment sheets for the semester orientations and testing (share).
  • Schedule potential CCR students for orientation and follow them through the process until they enter classes.
  • Complete the information form for students interested in CCR orientation registration.
  • Schedule testing appointments.
  • Gather transcripts for Adult High School (AHS) students as needed and share with the Data Technician.
  • Assign class or complete registration for students.
  • Deliver student folders to instructors after orientations and communicate regularly with each of them to ensure students begin/continue classes in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adequate testing coverage at both campuses.
  • In collaboration with CCR Career Coaches, other areas of the college, and the community, plan, and organize, a monthly career speaker series and educational engagement sessions that support CCR students’ awareness of and preparation for post-secondary pathways.
  • Plan and schedule informational and engaging sessions that support student awareness and readiness for postsecondary and career pathways.
  • Represent CCR at community events in collaboration with other staff and faculty.
  • Guide current and potential students’ entry into Transition courses.
  • Track CCR student progress and retention.
  • Report any issues needing attention to the Directors and/or Data Specialist.
  • Serve as the online National Reporting System (NRS) assessment administrator and conduct and proctor remote assessments.
  • Maintain and update a record of College and Career Readiness instructors’ current NRS assessment certification status, including documentation of training completion dates and upcoming recertification requirements.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors and/or administer or assign online testing for NRS tests if needed.
  • Run, maintain, and submit accurate monthly NRS reports and supporting documentation to instructors, and coordinators in all campuses, including the prison.
  • Track and compare retention trends across both campuses to identify needs and opportunities.
  • Attend professional development training.
  • Provides updates to the supervisor regularly and communicates any challenges with completion of required work assignments.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned which support the purpose and initiatives of CCR and Davidson Davie Community College.
  • Ensures effective coordination and communication between both campuses to support program consistency.
  • Maintains operational readiness of assessment spaces, materials, and schedules for both campuses.
