About the Role The Assembly & Test Technician is responsible for executing pressure testing, mechanical assembly, precision cleaning, and thermal insulation work. You will work alongside leadership and engineering to conduct pressure testing, mechanical assembly, and precision cleaning work on various fluid assemblies for the Terran R rocket and Aeon R rocket engine. This is a 2nd shift position with a standard schedule of 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM PT, Monday through Friday. The role includes a 10% shift differential added to the base pay. Please note that this position is structured around a baseline expectation of a 50-hour workweek, which may include occasional overtime as needed to meet operational goals.

Requirements

  • Experience working with heavy parts, mechanical assembly, and fastening
  • Experience using fluid equipment such as sonicating immersion cleaning tanks, flushing equipment, pressure washing equipment, or high-pressure hydrostatic proof testing pumps
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong documentation ethic and organization skills

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in pressure testing and precision cleaning for aerospace products
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced aerospace production environment

Responsibilities

  • Use torque wrenches and other tools to assemble critical pressure seals, fittings, flanges, and other hardware to facilitate pressure testing
  • Operate high-pressure hydraulic and hydrostatic pumps within a blast enclosure to safely pressure test fluid components and assemblies
  • Use sonicating immersion cleaning tanks, flushing equipment and pressure washing equipment to precisely clean assemblies and components to meet critical standards for handling liquid oxygen
  • Use insulating foams and fiberglass insulation to thermally insulate sensitive components from the environment
  • Escalate production blockers to leadership for timely resolution
  • Work alongside engineering to resolve technical hardware non-conformances and to implement corrective actions
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and work alongside leadership and engineering to implement them
