This is an amazing opportunity for an Assembly and Test Inspector in our MRO Commercial Engine Center. This is a 1st Shift position and is classified as Labor Grade 3. The role involves using a wide variety of power and mechanical tools to perform functional checks on engine assembly and components. The inspector will perform dimensional and visual inspections following standardized methods and established techniques, which may include surface plate work or standard measuring techniques to verify accuracy. The inspector is responsible for accepting or rejecting material based on findings, working from applicable written inspection procedures and engineering drawings, and using a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments, including automated measuring machines. Program instructions are well-defined, and the inspector will be checking dimensions and recording results. The role also requires performing necessary mathematical computations to resolve the extent of nonconformance and completing appropriate paperwork. Following proper procedures to perform in-line checks and verifications of dimensions and ensuring operation sheets are being followed is also a key part of the job. The inspector may be assigned additional tasks within the scope and skill level of the job description to support department objectives and develop individual skills.
