Reporting to the General Foreman, the Assembly Technician applies their experience and passion for precision manufacturing to take projects from blueprint to reality. Weldco-Beales Manufacturing is a 100% Inuvialuit-owned company with 80 years in operation, producing heavy equipment attachments for various industries. Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience
  • In-depth knowledge of all tools and equipment in steel fabrication and welding operations
  • In-depth knowledge of safety practices
  • Communication skills to read, write, listen, and speak in a clear and concise manner to individuals at various levels
  • Interpersonal skills work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
  • Time management skills to productively complete work and meet all expected deadlines
  • Organizational skills to plan out and coordinate his or her work in a logical manner
  • Analytical skills to identify problems and find a solution, or seek advice from the supervisor
  • Problem solving skills to methodically and logically work through problems
  • Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination skills

Nice To Haves

  • Overhead Crane Experience is an asset
  • Trades ticket/Red Seal is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Disassembly and assembly of hydraulic cylinders and swivels
  • Troubleshooting
  • Safety testing
  • Complete projects carefully, without unnecessarily wasting material and/or resources
  • Process improvement
  • Produce high quality parts on schedule
  • Perform weekly maintenance and cleaning
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained through submission of Maintenance Request Forms to the Maintenance Department
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment at all times
  • Practice safety in the work place at all times to ensure he or she does not endanger oneself
  • Comply with all safety rules and practices as set by Occupational Health and Safety, WBM and any and all other relevant safety regulations and requirements
  • Daily pre-shift inspections on any and all equipment that will be used during the shift and inspection results will be recorded in log book
  • Will regularly check all work tools and equipment and shall take out of service any tool or equipment that poses a hazard due to a need for repairs.
  • Perform other duties as required
