The Assembly Technician is responsible for installing components and equipment on light and heavy-duty chassis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. Other duties may be assigned. Plan and perform a wide variety of fitting, assembly, installation, and alignment of components to operating requirements. Perform work as outlined in a build order or change order with efficiency and accuracy. Build all units consistent to company standards. Read and interpret schematics to determine sequence, tooling requirements and allowable tolerances. Install 12V/24V electrical systems. Install special components for the truck design. Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications. Align and or fit parts according to specifications. Position and tighten components into position. Move parts into position manually or with hoist or crane. Properly document work performed. Maintain all necessary shop and personal equipment and tooling. Keep the shop area clean and always be accountable for all tools. Ensure the customers’ trucks and equipment are kept neat and clean. Performs other duties as assigned.
