The Assembly Technician is tasked with fabricating components and assemblies of moderate to high complexity. With guidance from Engineering and Production Management, the Assembly Technician will maintain a stock of raw materials and components, put together sub-assemblies (by hand, using hand tools and the hot press), and perform high-level inspection throughout the fabrication process. Fabrication requires delicate craftsmanship and some heavy lifting of tools/molds. Attention to detail (visual) and time management are key to your success at UPC. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience in manufacturing and some experience working with HAZMAT.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Required High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • 1 or more years of relevant experience
  • 1 or more years of relevant manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience with high-precision equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience working with HAZMAT.
  • 3 or more years of assembly experience
  • SAP Experience
  • Experience with AS9100 and ISO9001
  • Aerospace and defense manufacturing experience
  • Experience with ITAR Compliance

Responsibilities

  • Fabricating components and assemblies of moderate to high complexity.
  • Maintaining a stock of raw materials and components.
  • Putting together sub-assemblies by hand, using hand tools and the hot press.
  • Performing high-level inspection throughout the fabrication process.
  • Working with uncured rubber compounds and organic thin-film adhesives.
  • Operation of hot press, curing oven, or similar equipment.
  • Basic understanding of temperature recorders and controllers.
