Constructs custom assemblies and fabricates value-added assembly items as needed by customers and for stock. Duties include fabricating and constructing custom stock assemblies by performing plasma cutting, welding, soldering, grinding, painting, electrical wiring, and fabricating hose and tubing. The role involves using general hand and power tools, performing diagnostic and trouble-shooting practices, and interacting with the Assembly Division Coordinator and management team for scheduling and prioritizing projects. The technician will use calculators and charts to determine appropriate components, document new and changed custom assemblies using digital cameras, computers, scanners, faxes, and electronic drawings, and test completed units to prescribed standards.
