About The Position

The Assembly Technician is a key player in the production process, ensuring the efficient and accurate production of electrical products. Reporting directly to the Production Lead, they are responsible for maintaining high-quality standards, meeting production targets and deadlines, and supporting a safe and organized work environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong reporting and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of physically lifting parts up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to remain standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Strong manual dexterity.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training in manufacturing, assembly, electronics, or a related field is an asset.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, assembling, gluing, and packaging electrical heater components according to work orders or instructions.
  • Operating hand tools, power tools, and production equipment safety and effectively.
  • Verify correct materials, parts, and documentation are available for assigned tasks.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, quality, and compliance with standards.
  • Accurately record production data such as output timesheets and any defects or issues encountered.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and suggest opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in troubleshooting assembly issues and contribute to corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S practices.
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and defective equipment or materials to a supervisor.
  • Participate in safety training and actively apply safe work practices.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, leaders, and managers.
  • Support other production areas as needed to meet overall production targets and objectives.
  • Provide feedback on production methods to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
